About our feeding support services

Expert feeding drop-ins

Our online feeding drop-in is for parents and carers of twins and triplets who want support with feeding, from pregnancy to stopping milk feeds. All feeding types are welcome. You can come along to chat with other parents, share experiences and get support.

It runs every Monday, except bank holidays, from 10am to 11.30am. You can join at any point during the session. The session is run by NCT-accredited breastfeeding counsellors with support from our Breastfeeding Peer Supporters. They're volunteers who've breastfed their babies and can share practical information and a listening ear.

1:1 feeding support

Our team of trained and NCT-accredited mums have all fed their babies and are here to provide you with 1:1 support for any of your feeding questions or issues. You can speak with them by email or phone to talk through what's happening and explore your options without judgement.

They can support you whether you're breastfeeding, formula feeding or combining both for your twins, triplets or more.

Frequently asked questions about our feeding support

No, our online feeding drop-in is free and open to everyone. Premium Members can access additional 1:1 feeding support, tailored to your needs for even more personalised help.

Our online feeding drop-in sessions are held via Zoom, so anything you share will be visible to the other participants. However, these sessions are not recorded.

Everything you share with our volunteers during 1:1 support is kept confidential, unless we're worried about your safety or that of someone in your home.

We're here to listen and offer support - whether you just need a safe space to talk or need help with a specific feeding concern. We can also signpost you to additional resources if needed. Just let us know what you're hoping for from the session and we'll take it from there!

Questions our feeding volunteers are often asked about breastfeeding twins, triplets or more

Yes, you can breastfeed multiples! It just may take some time and patience. Breastfeeding works on supply and demand - the more your babies feed, the more milk your body will produce. With the right support, a plan for the early days and realistic expectations, it is definitely possible to breastfeed your babies.

If your babies are born early, they might not be able to feed at the breast right away, but you can still start building your milk supply. If you're expressing milk, aim for eight to ten expressing sessions every 24 hours, including through the night, to help establish a strong supply.

Yes, sometimes it's possible to move to full breastfeeding, though it can take time. This may be especially true if your babies were born early or are still learning to latch well. Focus on feeding as often as possible and get help with other tasks like meals or chores so you can rest. Over time, reducing the formula top-ups gradually can help build your milk supply.

There are several positions you can try for feeding two babies at the same time. What works best depends on your babies' size, your recovery and what feels comfortable for you. Our Breastfeeding more than one booklet [LINK HERE], available to Premium Members, is filled with helpful positions and tips to find what works best for you.
