We offer a range of roles, with options to suit different interests and levels of experience. You can volunteer as little or as much as you're able, in a way that fits around your life.
If you're thinking about volunteering, we can support you with training. Volunteering can also help you build confidence and update your skills if you're planning a return to work.
As a volunteer, you'll receive a free Twins Trust membership. You'll also be invited to our annual volunteers day.
Take a look at our roles and get in touch if you'd like to find out more.
Twins Trust's trustees serve for a fixed term, as set out in our governing documents. This means we recruit new trustees from time to time. Any trustee vacancies will be advertised on our website.
If you're interested in becoming a trustee, please email your CV and a short personal statement to trustees@twinstrust.org. Your statement should explain why you'd like to join the Board and what you could contribute. We'll add you to our pool of interested candidates.
We value every expression of interest and we'll do our best to reply as soon as we can, but please be aware that there may not be a suitable vacancy available when you get in touch.
Our helpline volunteers are all parents of twins or triplets. As a volunteer, you'll be asked to give up to six hours a month across two shifts. During your shifts, you'll respond to calls and messages from parents, carers, health professionals and others supporting families with twins, triplets or more.
You'll take calls and messages through your laptop using our virtual contact centre. Before starting, you'll need to attend a virtual training session, complete an online safeguarding module every three years and keep up to date with Twins Trust resources and information.
For an informal chat about becoming a helpline volunteer, please email familyservices@twinstrust.org or call 01252 332344 (option two for Family Services) on weekdays between 10am and 3pm.
We're looking for qualified professionals who can support families with twins, triplets or more in four key areas:
- Education - we're seeking qualified teachers who can respond to referrals from Twins Trust about primary and secondary school issues. We're particularly keen to hear from teachers based in Scotland.
- Educational psychology - we're looking for qualified educational psychologists who can volunteer to support cases involving twins, triplets or more.
- Family therapy - we're seeking qualified family therapists, psychotherapists and psychologists. You could support families after the birth of their children, during adolescence or adulthood. This may include supporting an adult who has lost their twin, or couples where one partner is a twin.
- Speech and language therapy - we're looking for qualified speech and language therapists who can volunteer to support cases involving twins, triplets or more.
Our feeding support volunteers are all parents of twins or triplets. In this role, you'll need to be available for at least two hours a month on Monday mornings to support our feeding drop-in sessions. We'll also ask you to commit to at least six months in the role.
Our weekly feeding drop-ins are led by our trained breastfeeding counsellor but we need extra support to help sessions run smoothly when they're busy. You'll need to feel confident using Zoom, as the role includes admitting attendees to the call and sharing links and information in the chat. You'll also help manage the chat and support attendees during the session.
For an informal chat about becoming a feeding support volunteer, please email courses@twinstrust.org or call 01252 332344 (option one for courses) on weekdays, excluding Wednesdays, between 9.30am and 2.30pm.
We're looking to hear from parents who've experienced the loss of one or more babies from a multiple pregnancy. We need compassionate volunteers to join our peer-to-peer phone support service.
As a volunteer, you'll offer a listening ear and emotional support to families after the loss of a baby or babies. Your role is to provide understanding, empathy and a safe space for someone to share how they're feeling.
This type of support can be emotionally demanding and at times may require emotional resilience. Your wellbeing really matters to us, so we ask that you're at least two years bereaved. You don't need previous volunteering experience. What matters is a genuine wish to support others and a commitment to complete our comprehensive training programme.
If you'd like to know more about the service and how to apply, please email bereavementsupport@twinstrust.org.
If you're a qualified Norlander, you can volunteer with our In-home support service to help families with twins, triplets or more at home.
This role is only open to people who have trained at Norland College and completed their qualification. We share all volunteering applications with the Norland Agency.
To find out more about our partnership with Norland, please email familyservices@twinstrust.org.
We're always looking for people to help raise funds, so we can keep providing families with twins, triplets or more with the information and support they need to thrive. Your fundraising helps us raise awareness, invest in research and campaign for the best possible outcomes for our families.
You could take on a fundraising challenge, or nominate us as your workplace charity of the year. You can also support the Twins Trust Lottery, make a one-off donation or set up a monthly donation. If you're eligible, please add Gift Aid.
Our dad peer supporters are all fathers of twins or triplets. The service offers peer support for dads: a chance to talk to someone who understands. As a volunteer, you'll be available on an ad hoc basis. You can offer peer support by phone, email or text, depending on what suits you. Support is often a one-off chat, with the option for more contact if needed.
One of our dad peer supporters says: "I know how challenging the life of a dad of multiples can be - and how difficult it can feel to find someone who understands. I enjoy helping dads discover that they are not alone, and there is support and a listening ear out there for them".
Dad peer supporters are expected to attend a virtual training session, complete an online safeguarding module every three years and keep up to date with Twins Trust resources and information.
For an informal chat about becoming a dad peer supporter, please email familyservices@twinstrust.org.

We welcome applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates from all backgrounds. If you need reasonable adjustments to support your application, please email our team.
How to apply
If you're interested in any of our volunteer roles, please complete our application form and we'll be in touch.
